Oh the joys of life

Well life has been super BUSY!

Being a teacher is stressful, life changing, rewarding, fun, terrible, and everything in-between. Last week was very hard and almost pushed me to the limit, but after some re-evaluation gratefully this week has been great. My students never cease to teach me something new.

Being a MOM is also everything I mentioned above; however, I never knew it possible to love somebody so much. Callie changes everyday and truly is a little person now. She says ba ba, mama, dada, shirt, boook, Sadee, hi, bye, uh oh, festas, etc. She also loves songs and dancing. She dances in circles and it is the cutest thing. She also spends her day pushing around trash can and loves her nightly bath routine with mom. I can't imagine how my life would be without her.

And then there is my one and only husband, who surprised me last Saturday by having my Mom and Dad take Callie for the night. I got to take a 3 hour nap, go out to dinner, and finish the last Twilight book. I also can't imagine life without him. What an inspiration he is to me, taking over my role as Mother (he stays at home with Callie 3 days a week) and doing an exemplary job.

On the Blogspot Bandwagon

Well, I think I'm starting to get the hang of this blogspot thing, so here is the latest update in Jake, Callie, and I's life. I got my first teaching job in Crawford, Nebraska on January 5th. I teach 1st-4th grade general music and JH and HS choir. Overall, it has been very challenging. My students have went through FOUR different music teachers in the last six months and are having a hard time adjusting. Therefore, I am having a hard time with my classroom management, especially in the younger grades. However, I do enjoy working with the kids as each one of them is special and unique. With this new job, we did have to move from Bridgeport to Chadron and are slowly but surely adjusting.

We also bought a 2008 Chevrolet Impala yesterday. It's fire engine red and its name is Mater, kinda like ta-mater without the "ta." Okay so Jake and I like the Cars movie, but we also like our car!

Callie also started walking at 14.5 months. We NEVER thought she would. We really enjoy watching her grow each day. She also likes her baths and I think she can swim better than some of the 5 year olds that I have taught....and JAKE! She blows bubbles and "listens to the fishes." She also rolls from her front to her back with the help of the tub bottom of course.
